Told in varying perspectives and alternating between the past and present, When She Was Me is the story of identical twins Cassie and Leonora. Living year-round at a campground in Tennessee, the women lead isolated lives. When Wayne, the owner of the campground, passes away and the campground is quickly sold off, Leonora is uneasy. A family comes to stay on the grounds that same night, increasing her anxiety. But when their daughter goes missing, tensions skyrocket. Did her own mother kill her? Can Leonora and Cassie trust each other? With Leonora's sleepwalking and lapse in memories, can she trust herself?

Loved the reveal of the narrator of the past, though I thought the big twist was a little convenient in that it felt like it came out of nowhere? When I don't see a twist coming, I like to look back for hints but it seemed like these were purposely not there
a scarcely mentioned sibling who was supposed to be dead, except she actually wasn't? Feels like a bit of a cop-out

Part of this book were confusing, repetitive, and slow. At times, it seemed like the author got confused by which cabin was which.

I throughly enjoyed the twist. The very ending made all the confusing sections make much more sense.

It was a very good psychological thriller, it made me feel like my brain was in a blender with how confused I was trying to find out what the heck was going on.
