Charming book about a wonderful dedicated vet in New York. It made me smile but it’s quite dated now. Not the best feline book I’ve read.

a vet reflects on 60 years of treating cats- and making house calls in NYC at that! somewhat inevitably, he winds up talking more about the people who own the cats than the cats themselves- weirdos, celebrities, weird celebrities...but i enjoyed that he was a pretty crusty dude who didn't get too sentimental in his stories.

The various books that I am working on left me feeling a little restless, so I picked up this one that surfaced during a cleaning. It proved to be a quick and enjoyable read and a relief for the frustration of my cable being on the fritz this week. Dr. Camuti was as enjoyable as Dr. Jeff (Rocky Mountain Vet), as conniving as Dr. Pol (The Incredible), as mobile as Dr. Dee (Alaska Vet), and as understanding of his charges as Tia Torres is of put bulls. It was a good cure for my Animal Planet withdrawals. And I learned a few things about being a better pet parent.

i found this book at the goodwill. it's old as heck and that's ok by me. it was a buck and i figured it was worth the chance. i was right. it was a very interesting read. i really enjoyed it. i'm a pet person and a cat person so with this book being about a vet specializing in cats, i liked it. if you aren't into pets or cats then you probably won't want to read this. lol the stores dr camuti told are funny and i also find it interesting how medicine (even if it's animal medicine) has changed so much over the years. thinking about sending it to my friend who is a cat lover!

The Best book of cat anecdotes i've ever read
Could have been longer and it jumped around a bit, Dr. Camuti is quite the character - but you definitely get sense that this is the adventures of an everyman launched into absurd cat-induced situations
