A great, fun, light-hearted story about friendship, healthy risk-taking and discovering & valuing your best self. If you miss Ivy & Bean, this is a great visit with familiar-feeling friends.

Enjoyable and a couple of snickers and a crack of laughter or two! Definitely dark humor at times. The "salty" language is kept among the cohort and seems pretty representative... Adding to our library teen bibliography suggestions.

This wasn’t a terrible book, it was just aimed at someone a lot younger than me I think. Although in saying that, it hugely trivialised teenage drug use?
I can see what it was trying to achieve, giving ‘normal’ (read: upper-middle class, white, heterosexual, cisgendered) people something to relate to, citing that most books these days have some big tragic story, but the thing is, stories that feature diverse characters are important because for ‘normal’ people, there’s lots of other ‘normal’ people to relate to, lots of movies to relate to, lots of media. Fiction is a vital place for ‘normal’ people to be able to step into stories other than their own and gain some perspective.
Perhaps I’m blowing this up into a bigger deal than it needs to be, but I don’t know, it just sort of was a weird read - like what’s her deal with that guy’s hair?!

I know the point of nothing happening is the whole point because nothing really did happen. Oh wait no, they did talk about sex, and ask themselves why they aren't gay after reading about a lesbian sex scene in the first few pages.
