A reflective memoir following Anika Fajardo and her journey with establishing her relationship with her Colombian family and the country itself. Touched on some common themes and emotions regarding dual cultural identities. Some quite poignant and beautiful writing throughout but nothing entirely groundbreaking. I liked seeing magical realism discussed in memoir but don’t entirely agree with her take on the genre / wish there was some more nuance.

Anika brings you into her personal al story and makes you feel like you are there with her. So descriptive and well written! I highly recommend!
