Dnf at 73%. I just couldn't do it anymore. So boring and so so so cringey. If he called her "little one" one more time, I was going to reach through the book and punch him.

I have loved Juliana Smith’s books! I loved the playful banter so much! As a slight Star Wars need myself, I loved all those references. I loved how Luke gets common phrases wrong. I definitely giggled out loud multiple times. The chemistry between the characters was so sweet! I was literally on the edge of my seat screaming, “just kiss already!!!!!!” This is a cozy, warm, feel-good, office romance of friends to lovers and I’m here for it!!!

“I could find another job, but I would never find another Layla.”

Synopsis: Layla and Luke are best friends, coworkers, and pranksters. They are completely in love with each other but don’t want to ruin their friendship so they obviously can’t tell the other how they feel. Fast forward to a work trip to the beach, when everything changes!

You guys, if you need some Jim + Pam vibes in your life, read this book. It was such a sweet, easy read. At just over 300 pages, you can easily binge this book over the weekend and fall in love with Luke and Layla’s quirky friendship like I did. I loved Luke’s big crazy family and can’t wait to see more of them in future books.

I was entertained but it did drag a tad and got slow. I stopped for a bit and came back forgetting some stuff also Crew seemed to cause a very random climax so idk if it’s bc of my pause while reading or the author didn’t build this character enough for the climax to feel legit
