the book wasn’t very fun, it felt like an older man trying to be whimsical and “in-tune,” but without any of the heart. There was too much reliance on quips and short-form poetics that really just fell short of the mark for me. also he said the n word without necessity

The first time I heard this book was in 7th grade. My English teacher insisted on reading it aloud to us every day and we would sit there, raptured. Proud to be trusted enough to see a glimpse into adulthood and change our perspective maybe just a bit. I've read this book so many times, and it gets better as I get older. I read this aloud to my own children now and they loved it.

What a wonderfully enlightening, inspiring and heartwarming read!

Fulghum's short but power prose really convey a sense of wonder and awe for the reader. This self proclaimed philosopher really does find a unique way to express the most simple of life's phenomenon that might otherwise go overlooked or unnoticed by those with their own agenda.

It's true when he mentions in the introduction that the book has "no resolution of the plot at the end," but that simply means that there's no need to rush through it quickly as I often find myself doing in less pleasurable reads.

"All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten," should be required reading for anyone second guesses the miracle of their own existence. . .and everybody else as well!

Enjoy!

In fifth grade, I wanted something challenging to read. My Mom handed me this book, which was my Grandpa's, and she told me that I would think it was funny. I didn't only think this book was funny, I thought it was one of the best things I had ever read. It was truthful, satirical, and I could relate to it. This book wasn't some far-fetched idea, or a story that took place before my grandparents were even born. This book I identified with, and I loved every bit of it.
