So, I read this book in less than a day. There were parts I did and didn't like, but overall I think it was good. A lot of information came to light, so in the less interesting parts, like Calla's guardian training, I found myself not as captivated by the story. The ending didn't really hook me since I never liked the character that “appeared” I guess. Hopefully, we get a better read about them and who they are now in the next book because I do like what their character seems to have become! I enjoyed getting a glimpse of Calla's story and look forward to reading the rest of it.

Another Creepy Hollow book, and another success in my book! :) I've always been a fan of the Fae, and Rachel does such a great job with her character development and world building, that coming back for the next book is like coming back to your favorite vacation spot. It's familiar, it's a happy place, and I'm so glad for book 4! This time we're following Calla, who is the sister to our previous main character, Ryn! When author's pass a story to a new character, it's often hard to make that transition stick in the reader's hearts, but by keeping our main characters from the first three around in this one, it didn't feel like a loss, even if 10 years had passed. It felt like more of a growth of the world. We get to see other people and other adventures! Much better then ending it at book 3!

Now, speaking strictly of this novel, I loved Calla! She's smart and sassy, and a little kick assy (Is that a thing?). I kinda like her a little more then Vi, which surprised me, but she's written so well. She jumps off the page, and really has a vibrant personality. As for the story, Calla's world seems to be full of secrets and mysteriously handsome men, well man! I couldn't predict where this story was going from the beginning, and every plot twist just made my head spin, in a good way. This adventure is fast paced, exciting, and so addictive to read. Every-time I thought I knew the characters, something came out, and it was mind blowing! All in all, fantastic book. New characters are just as engaging, if not more so then the original, and the writing just keeps getting better! Rachel is an author to watch for sure!

In a final note, there is a MASSIVE cliffhanger, so don't get angry, it's a huge surprise, and it hurts, but that just means we're in store for another book and I cannot wait! :)

*I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Calla Larkenwood wants nothing more than to be a guardian. Until now, it never would have been possible. However, after an attack on their home, her mother is pushing her towards the career that Calla wants the most.
Against all odds, Calla is entered into 5th Year guardian school. Her mentor hates her and many of the kids whisper behind her back. Yet Calla couldn't be happier, as long as she keeps her secret.
O my gosh. I just finished listening to this and I'm already scrambling for the next audio! The suspense builds with just the right steps. There's friendship and a little romantic tension and great moments of humor! I'm really excited to read the next one --- and probably the three before this too!

so this book can be read without reading the first 3 but it helps to understand some of the side characters and back story. I was not convinced I will like Calla as much as V. I truly loved this book as much as I did the first three. I loved Ryn and V, but maaan can Cal hold her own
