I decided to read this because I’m reading a modern retelling of this soon and wanted all the background information so I can catch any Easter eggs that may pop up. This just reminded me of how much I enjoy Shakespeare. As a former theater kid, there is just something about a Shakespeare play that will always hold a special place in my heart.

That being said, if anyone knows any retellings that actually put Viola and Olivia together, let me know because that would be fun.

absolutely hilarious. once i got into the groove of the language and the way everyone talked i had such a good time. everyone is so dramatic. falling in love left and right. challenging people to duals because of peer pressure. swearing undying love to the homies, nary a "no homo" in sight. gaslighting someone into madness bc he's annoying. excusing abhorrent behavior on the grounds of being a taurus. so many blatant queer undertones. plots, schemes, pranks, jigs, everyone is always up to something. i'm obsessed.

this is my favorite shakespeare play. 3/5 bc it’s shakespeare and he annoys me but like this play is so messy!!!!
