A fresh, relevant perspective on modern romance. The attention to detail regarding the characters backstories, the artistic processes, and the various religions throughout was super impressive. By the end of the third chapter I was utterly devoted to the two main characters and rooting for them shamelessly.

This book gives a bird’s eye view into the life of a person who is in recovery but trying to move on in their lives and live normal like their peers. I love the magnetic push and pull between Eli and Wyatt. I love how they pump each up while trying to downplay their magnetic connection!! This was a quick read and I love the romantic angles.

I actually think this is a Pretty Damn Good Book, but ended up rating it slightly lower because it was much more of a traditional romance novel (in the "love means saving each other" manner) than I expected. If that's your jam, you'll probably get into it more than I did, and you should for sure read it. If it's not, this book is probably still worth your time.

One night stand to slow burn + addiction recovery + texts on page

Ely returns to Brooklyn after years away, having been kicked out of the Orthodox Jewish community for her addiction. She returns for an opportunity to study photography under Wyatt Cole.

Her first night back in town, she has a one night stand. And the next day, she finds out her one night stand is her professor.

This book has been on my TBR for so long and I'm so mad I waited this long to read it. It's so so so so good.

I absolutely loved both Ely & Wyatt, and the character depth and development for them. They're both prior addicts in recovery, and help each other continue that path.

I loved the art school aspect, and getting to learn more about film photography.

I loved the insight to different aspects of being Jewish through Ely's past, character development, and the photography project she decides on.

And so much more that I can't say because spoilers!

10/10 recommend this one!
