We're often cautioned against judging books by their covers, but let's throw caution to the wind. We see books before we read them. We see the illustration, the typography, the condition the book is in. I, for one, want to acknowledge the craftsmanship that goes into making books real, and to celebrate books as objects.

Some of these prompts can apply to ebooks and audiobooks but others relate specifically to physical copies. For some of the later prompts regarding damage and defacement, I recommend buying books from charity shops, boot sales, eBay, etc.
