Overview
**Next year’s challenge is live! Join the 2025 Prioritize Your Shelf reading challenge here.**
Welcome to the 2024 round of Prioritize Your Shelf! Read from your bookshelves this year and tackle your TBR, or simply use these prompts to help inspire your next read. You can read as many or as few books as you’d like for this challenge! Books can be used for as many prompts as you like and all genres and formats count.
There are 30 new prompts this year, with the remaining prompts pulled from previous years’ challenges. I’ve tried to keep each prompt fairly broad to be accessible to all types of readers.
If you’re caught up on the books you own, or don’t have a book that meets a specific prompt, feel free to use library books (thank you for supporting your local library!) or customize prompts as needed. The most important thing is to have fun, tackle books you’ve been meaning to get to, and celebrate the books you do end up reading this year.
Ideas for how to participate:
- Read 4 books to fulfill the 6 required prompts and ignore all the bonus prompts.
- Read 4 books to fulfill the 6 required prompts and see how many bonus prompts those titles can check off.
- Read 6 books and see how many bonus prompts you can check off.
- Read a different book for each prompt (53 books in total).
- Read as many books as it takes to fulfill all 53 prompts.
- Read exclusively from your physical TBR, ebook TBR, or audiobook TBR.
- Read a mix of your physical TBR, ebook TBR, and audiobook TBR.
- And more! Everyone’s bookshelves and TBRs look different. Participate in a way that works for you.
