The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
emotional
lighthearted
4.5
The Seven Year Slip has intrigued me for so long and after several glowing reviews from my friends, I had to give it a go as I haven't read from Ashley Poston before.
I'm in love with the genre mix of romance with magical realism and Ashley Poston definitely knows what she is doing. This was so charming, I actually felt giddy when I was reading this. I also love chef romances so that was a massive plus with this storyline.
Unfortunately though it just doesn't feel like a 5-star for me, it felt like something was missing but I can't pinpoint it. Perhaps it was the plotting and pace for me that didn't quite work. However I definitely think there is a 5-star book out there from Ashley Poston so I will be continuing with her backlist for sure.
4.5 stars
