“I am coming to love him, in two different ways.
Face to face, and word to word.”
HIGH RECOMMEND THIS BOOK IF YOU LOVE:
• Rivals-to-lovers
• Workplace romance
• Slow burn
• Found family
• He falls first
A great combination of historical fiction, fantasy and romance paired with a lovely writing style that manage to captivate me that I didn’t want to put it down!
I fell in love right away with the writing style – it’s beautiful, flawless, poetic and also easy to read.
Roman and Iris love story is one I would remember for a very long time. Their letters to one another are also cute and sweet, reading them is one of my favorite part from the story.
Their love story is like a beacon of light - they can still found happiness, love and hope in the middle of a dark, devastating, and horrifying ongoing war between gods.
The world building is unique and interesting to know especially about the myth regarding Dacre and Evna. I wish we’ll get to know more about them in the next book especially after reading that epilogue!
The last few chapters are quite intense and tears may have fallen in the last few pages, it was absolutely heart-breaking. I really wished this duology didn’t have a sad ending because I’m already attached to these characters…..
Words can’t describe how much I love this book, it brings out so many different emotions while I was reading it.
Overall, this is a wonderful love story and I would recommend this book to anyone, especially romance book lovers!
“I don’t think you realize how strong you are, because sometimes strength isn’t swords and steel and fire, as we are so often made to believe. Sometimes it’s found in quiet, gentle places. The way you hold someone’s hand as they grieve. The way you listen to others. The way you show up, day after day, even when you are weary or afraid or simply uncertain. That is strength, and I see it in you.”
