This is an absolutely beautiful read. If you loved Angels Before Man by rafael nicolás, then this is right up your alley. This feels like a sequel of sorts that runs in the same vein as rafael nicolás' story. This isn't a redemption story. It's a story about self-acceptance and growth. As someone with religious trauma, this felt cathartic. Like my feelings were seen. That good and evil are not as black and white as religion likes to make us believe. That healing is a journey that looks different for everyone. Sometimes, we make mistakes when we think we are doing the right thing, and we must accept the consequences in order to move forward. Life is complicated and messy, and this story reflects that beautifully. It's gorgeously sacrilegious and so so well written. I was hooked at every moment. I definitely recommend this one wholeheartedly.
