Dance of Stars and Ashes by Nisha J. Tuli

5.0

I have loved every book of Nisha's since I began with Lor's first line in Trial of the Sun Queen. I finished reading Heart of Night and Fire at the end of December and devoured it in only a few days, which is par for a Nisha read. When I was selected as an ARC reader for Dance of Stars and Ash: Part 2 of the Night Fire Quartet, I was overwhelmed with enthusiasm, and Nisha did not let me down.

Next to Trial of the Sun Queen, this is my favorite Nisha novel. All of my favorite goodies exist here... enemies to lovers, adventure, found family, and a surprisingly candid coming-of-age story. Heart of Night and Fire was lovely, but Dance upped the stakes and pacing.

I fell even deeper in love with Nisha's unique, vibrant, and alive imagery. Every setting and room felt natural, like a lost memory from a dream.

Due to Zarya's age and lack of experience, romantic and platonic relationships were stumbled through with an understandable clumsiness. It is painful at times to watch Zarya make the mistakes she does, but it is also very human and connected me to her in a sincere way, knowing she would grow with time. She sometimes lacks confidence, can be too trusting, and is quick to anger, which are all common emotions we struggle with when we are young and in love. But Zarya has a heart too big for her body, and when she loves, she loves fiercely and fearlessly, making our heroine a real person.

The plot and intrigue continue to unveil itself at its own natural pace, and as usual, I can barely contain myself to find out what it all means. I blew through this read because I couldn't tear myself away from it. More importantly, I didn't want it to.

I highly recommend it if you enjoy romance, adventure, and the price of trust and love.

Thank you to Netgalley and Second Sky for providing my first ARC in exchange for an honest review!
