Synopsis:
Layla Wright and Luke Wells have been working together at West Oak Publishing for 3 years. They have a Jim and Pam from the office type of relationship where they pull pranks on each other and other members of the office and overall they are just best friends. However, Layla has always had a crush on Luke, and Luke has always had a crush on Layla. Years ago Layla once heard Luke tell their other friend Nathan that Layla wasn't what he was looking for. So, they were just destined to be friends. When a work conference to Ocean City comes up, the two of them decide that now is the time to break out of their comfort zones and try and tip-toe the line between being friends and being more.

Thoughts (spoilers):
I thought this book was cute. I liked Luke and Layla and I thought they had chemistry with one another. My biggest thing was this book was lowkey a miscommunication trope. Like they both liked each other and I feel like they kinda both knew it too and just because of what Luke said the first week that they met is the reason that Layla never made a move. Like, I get it, but also I was hoping for more you know. I loved Luke's family and that aspect of the book. That Layla kinda became a part of them and they loved and supported her when her own family didn't. I'm excited about the other sibling's books too. I did have really high hopes for this book and was a tiny bit disappointed but I also had really high expectations. I did like it though, it was cute and fun. I liked the whole conference thing, it was different than anything I had read before. It was nothing groundbreaking but I did have a good time reading it.
