I’ve been anxiously awaiting my library hold for this book as I just instantly knew I would enjoy it from the synopsis alone.
I really enjoyed this and couldn’t put it down as predicted! I still haven’t stopped thinking about it since finishing it days ago. I just loved the writing style of Madeleine Gray, this was definitely my sense of humour, in particular the depiction of the office based workplace.
Our main character is Hera, and I found her very relatable and I just really connected with her, without agreeing with the character’s actions of infidelity. I just felt her desperation and frustration, her need for connection which spirals into obsession. I felt myself holding out hope for her throughout and really cared for her.
A quick heads up that the timeline does feature the pandemic, which I usually tend to avoid in newer releases as I don’t care for it and know others feel the same.
This was a great debut and I definitely will keep an eye out for future releases from this author.
