Heat of the Everflame by Penn Cole
3.0
This book is infuriating. The story is so interesting, and I was completely wrapped up in the world, and the magic is fascinating.
But Diem and Luthor have become tired plot devices.
There is a character who should have been killed 7 times throughout that is forgiven at the end AFTER he was going to murder a school of children in the name of mercy.
That's not mercy. That's insulting plot armor.
I was loving this series. And the characters were interesting, but I'm really not sure I'm going to finish, and I'm a completionist.
I can love a story, but if you use and abuse characters, you've lost me.
