When She Was Me by Marlee Bush

2.0

I didn't like the writing style of this one, a lot of very short, choppy sentences, like it's trying to be dramatic. Like bad YA writing. But I was too intrigued to DNF. Sadly, this felt way too long and repetitive and while I may have enjoyed this conclusion in a better written book, it wasn't worth the slog for me. Sooo many repeated phrases - "that night," "that summer," "my sister," "secrets." Unreliable narrator amped up to 11. It felt like a YA book for adults.
