This was so unexpected. Cora Rose had me equal parts hating and loving this story. I was so curious how Cora was going to make us enjoy a story about Mitch after everything he had done with each of his brothers. Getting his POV, we see just how complicated and layered he is. I felt hatred and frustration towards him, but also sympathy. He was never set up for success, and while it isn't his fault at the start, it is his fault as time went on. He owns it. He grows. This story is an emotional rollercoaster. I would even say it is one of the heavier stories that Cora has written. Gideon was also an interesting character and complimented Mitch so well. I also had a lot of feelings towards him. Frustration and understanding mostly. I found myself feeling such deep empathy for each MC when we experienced the story through their POV. All in all, I really enjoyed this, and this was such a great way to finish out this series of redemption stories. And that epilogue was perfection. Everything came full circle in the best way.
