A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

A Court of Mist and Fury is my second 5-star read of 2023 and the first 5-star read was A Court of Thorns and Roses. Now, ACOMAF completely eclipses ACOTAR but unfortunately I cannot rate it more than 5 stars, even though it deserves it. If you have read ACOTAR and are unsure whether to carry on with the series, please, you need to read this book.
I completely fell in love with the Night Court, with our new set of main characters: Mor, Amren, Cassian and Azriel, along with of course Rhysand and Feyre. Rhysand and Feyre may be my favourite book couple of all time. I saw a lot of excitement online for chapter 55 and yes, it deserves the hype, the sexual tension was off the charts with these two. But where's all the hype for chapter 54?! It was a complete gamechanger and made this book the success it is.
I loved the plot, I loved the character development. I felt all the emotions; I was SOBBING, full on tears at this book. I haven't enjoyed a series like this in a long time and cannot wait to continue as it does end on a cliff-hanger. Also my review of ACOTAR still stands where I think that Sarah J. Maas is a great writer for entry-level beginners to fantasy, it isn't overly complicated with the worlds, characters and magic systems.
