This is a solid debut novel. This is book one of the No Mercy duet. This is a delicious slow-burn that really delves into Kirill and Yarik. Who they are, how they met, what they have become. We especially see Yarik's deepest feelings and his struggles being the son of the Pakhan of the Bratva. The character development is top-notch. We really get to see every layer of Yarik and how complicated Kirill is (along with his air of mystery). Overall, I enjoyed this and look forward to the next book. I will say that the pacing felt weird at times, and some of Yarik's pining also felt overly redundant at times. That said, this is still a great debut from this author.
