Thank you so much to the author for the complimentary book!

I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS BOOK!!!!

This book will be published on June 27th.

It is not often that I get all the swoony feels towards a YA book but this one left my in my feels.
I had never read one of Kelsey's books before but you betcha I will be going back and checking out her prior books especially if they were anything like this.

The two biggest plots in this book were Lahey's relationship and rivalry with her cousin Summer which leds to Lahey needing to bring a date to her party just to prove to her that she could. Lahey is known for matchmaking amongst her peers so she thought finding a date for herself would be easy. If only!

"You loved my failure."
"No. I was just amused at how you avoided seeing what was in front of you."

Adler was such a dreamboat to read on paper. And I love that he just kept popping up on her dates and always there to support her. Lahey was totally obviously to his advances & flirting. As a reader seeing his comments just made me swoon so much even threaten violence at one point for a date putting the moves on her. He left so many crumbs for her and she just didn't want to accept that. I don't do this but I have to notate my favorite chapters come in the cluster of chapters 18-20. Loved every single page!!!

I love the conversation Lahey had with Poppy about this stating "I just mean not everything has to be suspicious - sometimes it's exactly what it seems" and " You can't let yourself see what's right there in front of you because you feel like you don't deserve it." I love the banter between Lahey and Adler and you could tell that they had been friends for awhile.

All the relationships in this book were just so wonderfully done. I do not have sisters and reading this made me realize that I did not miss out on them. Just kidding, it definitely would be cool to have an older and younger sister (I am the eldest between my brother and I). Her relationship with her cousin was also very dramatic and I cannot imagine having a relationship like that with any of my cousins. It took Lahey a minute to understand her role in why they do not get a long.

There were so many ways I related to Lahey but also so many ways that I wish I was her when I was in high school. She had the confidence and the personality that I had inside but felt like I could never expressed outwardly. When going on these dates with the boys & talking about why things weren't going to work, her size was never one of the reason. Which I ABSOLUTELY loved that!

I just love this book & want others to love it too!

Bonus: The author is localish so it was so fun to see cities that I have visited & that are fairly close to me!!
