I came in with high expectations and they were met!
The characters were wonderful and I was rooting for them pretty much from the first page. And not gonna lie, the last few pages took my breath away with tension. I read this book so quickly because I had to know how these characters were doing and whether they would be okay.
I love post apocalyptic stories, and this one hit all the right beats. And the experience made it even better with the queer romance stringing it together. The world was wonderfully constructed and felt very real.
What I didn’t expect, however, was the conflicting and sad feelings due to it being about a pandemic. The fear of humanity being basically wiped out by a plague suddenly has become a lot more real.
Overall a fantastic book!
