This one was a slow burn for me and hard to get into.  It’s part of the Eva Rae Thomas series.  She’s an FBI agent attempting to solve a murder.  The story is told on two timelines, and I was a little bit frustrated waiting to find out how they were going to connect.  I didn’t care for the writing style as I felt some of the descriptions and adjectives were repetitive.  The narrator had good pacing, but I didn’t care for her character voices.  The women all sounded breathy and she dropped her voice really deep for male characters and I found it distracting.  All in all, it was a decent story and might be better enjoyed in print format than audio.
