Thanks to the author for providing me with a free e-ARC of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

When I heard that this book has ‘The Office’ vibes, I was immediately sold. Add in the fact that there’s no third-act breakup, and I knew it was a match made in heaven.

Per My Last email follows Luke and Layla, two best friends who work together and have been in love with each other for the past three years. It definitely gave me Jim and Pam vibes (yay!) and the angst and mutual pining was top-notch.

I can honestly say that this was one of the sweetest romances I’ve read, and I absolutely flew through it. As much as I adored it, though, it’s not a new favourite. Everything felt super low-stakes for me, and while I appreciated that there wasn’t a third-act breakup, I had hoped there would be a bit more conflict towards the end.

I also feel like Luke and Layla were not subtle about their feelings AT ALL so there was no reason for them to wait this long to get together (aside from the bit of miscommunication that takes place at the start of the book).

None of these things are major issues, but they did slightly take away from my enjoyment of the book. Nonetheless, it was a lovely romance that gave me the warm and fuzzies, coupled with a delightful cast of character – except Janise. No one likes you, Janise (iykyk) ;)
