The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary
4.5
The Flatshare follows Tiffy and Leon who enter a 'roommate' situation, where they occupy the shared flat at different times. Interestingly, it is quite a while until they meet in person and instead they communicate via notes, which was my favourite part of this romance. Also worth noting is that both main characters are in romantic relationships at the beginning of the book, and I wasn't sure how this would be handled successfully, but it was well done by the author.
I also enjoyed the sideplots to the romance, especially Leon's brother who is currently stuck in prison after being wrongly convicted. There is a lot of humour in this book, it is a very sweet romance and it is a true delight to read.
I would highly recommend the audiobook experience of this book, narrated by Carrie Hope Fletcher and Kwaku Fortune. It works so well for the dual POVs. The only little niggle I had was I didn't enjoy the phone call format that was used, the 'phone call filter' meant I found it quite difficult to understand their voices.
I would definitely be interested in reading more by Beth O'Leary in the future.
