This was a cute book overall but it took until more than halfway through for it to actually keep my attention. A bit too slow of a start for my tastes. And the conflict within the romance wasn't particularly interesting to me.
I liked all the wildlife stuff. There is a LOT of animal poop in this story, be forewarned. If scat really grosses you out, this is not the book for you. But there were fun facts and baby animals and primate drama and conservation efforts and it was all very cute.
🌶️ 3.5/5 for a handful of steamy scenes
🏳️🌈✊ The book is good on diversity in gender and sexuality. The FMC has a non-binary sibling, a lesbian sibling, and the FMC is bi. I think some of the other siblings may be queer too but they weren't really the focus so it was unclear to me. Race/ethnicity not so much, but the story follows a white family with a lot of siblings so it sort of makes sense, since the family members are kind of the only people we see most of the time. There are a couple racially and ethnically diverse side characters but we barely see them.
