You know cross over episodes in sit coms where a famous actor just happens to enter at the perfect time and the laugh track goes wild. That's what reading this book felt like. Except it kept happening over and over again.
Alex, Jules, Bridget's daughter, Rhys, Christian, Asher Donovan, heck even Farrah from her If Love series- all made an appearance.
And while it was nice, you could tell the story was grasping on to them to keep things interesting.
Sloane and Xavier were nice. They were fun. They had their fair share of confusing moments and it got a bit annoying towards the end.  I will say I think the story was moving too fast, with too much going on at some points and nothing going on at others. But I enjoyed this more than KoG so they have that going for them.

Tropes:
  • Reverse grumpy x sunshine
  • Billionaire romance (obviously)
  • Golden retriever mmc
  • Ice queen (ish) fmc
  • Family issues trauma bonding
