Air Awakens by Elise Kova
3.5
Air Awakens by Elise Kova is a really enjoyable read that pulls you into a world of magic, politics, and self-discovery. The story centers on Vhalla Yarl, a quiet library apprentice who finds out she has a rare form of magic that could change everything in her war-torn world.
I liked how Kova brings Vhalla’s journey to life, especially her struggle between staying in her comfort zone and stepping into something much bigger.
The magic system is interesting, and the characters, particularly the mysterious Aldrik, kept me hooked.
While the book was a good read, it didn’t leave me desperate to dive into the next one right away.
I’m definitely planning to return to the series, but I’ll probably check out a few other books first.
