More of what I’ve come to expect in the Penric and Desdemona series: a mystery, some quippy banter, and a neat resolution. I liked some of the new characters that were introduced in this one, especially the shamaness Lunet and Baron Wegae. I really want Penric to get a pet fox now, though I’m not sure that’s actually going to happen. I’m gonna take a little break from the Penric series for a while now, but I might come back to it at some point and read the next few novellas. There certainly are plenty more of them!
