Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson

This book took me substantially longer than the previous two Stormlight novels, though I’m not sure why. They each took me about a week to read, this one took me nearly two. Quite a lot happens in this book – it’s actually quite shocking to me to look back at the beginning and see how far everyone has come. As always, Sanderson is at his best when writing grand, epic fantasy, which this book certainly is. I continue to love the worldbuilding and am curious about how some of the characters will develop over the next two books. Even though this was technically “Dalinar’s book,” I think the character arc I was most invested in was Shallan’s, which I think still isn’t finished yet, even after the end of book 3. That said, my favourite character are still some of the smaller side characters, like Lift, Szeth (and his sword), the Bridge Four crew (especially Lopen), and Sebarial. And Wit, of course. Looking forward to reading book 4, and book 5 when it comes out later this year.
