Beautiful and devastating, Babel was a fascinating and infuriating read in the best ways. I consistently wanted to reach through the pages and give these characters a strong smack. The story of people taken from their homes, used, and disposed of when they’re no longer useful or cooperative is a tale as old as time, but this was a new take that I loved. The history felt so real, and the characters so deep and three-dimensional I was pulled in from the get go.
