Every so often you come across one of those magical books that just touch your soul, and this was one of those for me. So much of the content is still relatable to me, a woman living in 2021, and in some ways that's beautiful, in others it's tragic. I often highlight phrases in books that just really speak to me, and I think this book is the most highlighted yet, from its first pages of her hard farming childhood, through her adult struggles with sexuality, femininity, and balancing finding her life's passion with having to make money to stay alive. Every phase of the book has something quotable, meaningful, and important to say. A true gem of a book, this one's going right to my favorites list.
