King of Pride by Ana Huang
4.0
King of Pride honestly began as such a strong contender for a five-star romance, I thought from the get go it was so much stronger than King of Wrath because of how likeable the main characters are to me. I absolutely LOVE Kai Young, he has got to be one of my favourite MMCs of all time, and equally I really enjoyed Isabella, she was so fun and also relatable. I thought their chemistry was amazing and they completely complimented one another. The spice in this book was absolutely perfect for me, *chef's kiss* 😚
I also really enjoyed the side plots to the romance, and the character development both Kai and Isabella went through separately. Unfortunately what let this book down is definitely the third-act breakup. I found it to be completely unnecessary for the storyline and it really affected my enjoyment of the book because I didn't actually see it coming. I'm still giving this a generous 4 stars because I did love the vast majority of this book but it really could have been one of my favourite romances if not for the silly third act breakup.
