I have conflicting feelings about this. To be clear, this is not at all a bad story. There were just some things that I just didn't vibe with. The writing is really good. The descriptions and wording really did help keep me engaged with the story. Also, the romance itself had potential, I just struggled to feel any true connection between Rapha and Jae. We mostly only get Rapha's POV, with a few chapters from Jae's POV. We just went from Rapha being obsessed with Jae, they hook up, and then there are suddenly lots of feelings after only two interactions. It didn't feel believable. Somehow, the story felt both too long and not long enough, in that I think more page time could have been used to develop the connection between Rapha and Jae in the beginning, and less on some other things that didn't feel relevant to the romance and plot. I really liked Jae's character and wished we got more of his POV. He's a bit of a mystery for a lot of the story, and outside of his few POV chapters, he almost seems cold. Overall, I mostly enjoyed myself and didn't struggle to finish this, but there were a few things that keep this from being a favorite.
