It’s been so long since reading book 1 that I desperately needed this mini-reintroduction to the world before going into book 2. This is a precious, almost standalone style story set in the same world in the Crowns of Nyaxia, and so while the story itself is pretty self-contained, the world building is all connected so well.

I didn’t suuuuper love the romance just because it seemed a little too quick buuuuut the romance combined with the story of Lilith’s search for a cure was beautiful.
