Is this an objectively good book series? No, not at all. Would I recommend it to anyone? Not in a thousand years. Do I still love it with my whole heart? Yes. No idea why. 

I think you either hate this series of become absolutely obsessed with it for at least the nearest decade. There’s no in between.
