King of Sloth by Ana Huang
slow-paced
2.0
Finally I have finished the 4th book in the Kings of Sin series, it has unbelievably taken me a month and a half to get through it and I even had to resort to the audiobook to get it done. It really didn’t need to be as long as it was.
I didn’t enjoy the plot on this one but my main issue was obviously the romance between Sloane and Xavier, I just didn’t feel the chemistry between them aside from their professional relationship. Xavier just wasn’t my type of MMC, I mean it is ‘Sloth’ in terms of the sin🤷♀️ it felt too cookie cutter, unoriginal and the third act conflict was overdone too.
I have loved Ana Huang’s writing and really this book was no exception to that, I still loved the prose. The spice always hits and I loved these scenes in the book even with the lack of chemistry.
Although this wasn’t a hit, I am still highly anticipating book 5 in the series with Vuk and Ayana and we’re getting Envy which should be fun to read.
