Murder Road by Simone St. James
4.0
3.75/4✨
I've been wanting to read a book by Simone St. James for a long time, and I think this one is a great place to start. I love the way she writes; the whole book felt like a mix between a '90s slasher movie and The Blair Witch Project.
I'm torn between giving it 3.75 and 4 stars because the plot is pretty predictable. It tries to mislead you into expecting a plot twist, but in reality, your first theory is usually correct.
Also docking points because I like everything wrapped up nicely, with all questions answered by the end. Not a fan of open endings, and while this book doesn’t have one, it still leaves a lot hanging.
Still, I really like her writing, and I’ll definitely be reading more of her books!
