I mostly really enjoyed this version of the “model Asian minority myth” story. I liked that it included a storyline with an incarcerated sibling, which is rarely seen in my experience
The cooking show element was fun and full of delicious food descriptions and challenging of stereotypes
And yet the book ended abruptly. It felt like the ending needed an edit and the overall arc of the story was unfinished. Overall I really enjoyed it but the ending left me wanting
