A Talent for Murder by Peter Swanson
3.0
A Talent for Murder continues on with Henry Kimball & Lily Kinter series, but takes on a bit of a different format. It is also a lot shorter than the previous two books, coming in at just over 250 pages.
This book was pretty disturbing and ominous, perfect for this type of thriller. I felt on the edge of my seat, and invested in trying to work out the mysteries. There were a lot of twists I didn’t manage to guess. However I think this is also a negative. What I found with this book, and also the previous books in the series, is the unrealistic way that characters jump to conclusions. It’s just too unbelievable how they piece the clues together, essentially too convenient at the exact right time. Also I think there are some inconsistencies in this book which were frustrating.
I did enjoy the ending, it was just wild and I really thought it was the end. I would be happy if the series wrapped up here to be honest, and would prefer to read something from Peter Swanson outside of these characters and world.
