i really wish i enjoyed this book :( it makes me sad to give this 1 star but i just couldn’t bear reading it
the writing style had me cringing constantly, a lot of the dialogue was very unnatural. it read very much like a 6th-grade fanfic, nobody talks like that in real life. much of the book was their internal dialogue and them describing what was happening, rather than expressing what happened itself. personally, i’m not a fan of the instant-love trope either. both of their character were very underdeveloped and it made it difficult for me to really connect with either of them. especially cameron, he was written to “growl” or “snarl” in very unsubtle ways that took away from the appeal of his character.
i loved the tropes (which is what got me to pick it up) as they’re not super popular among other contemporary romances but it wasn’t well executed and overall just fell really flat for me.
