When I started reading this book, I honestly found it pretty tough. The beginning felt really slow, and I had a hard time connecting with the main character; she seemed like such a kid to me.

Even though it's technically not a YA book, it definitely feels like one. Most of the romance happens off-screen, and I honestly appreciate that because I'd feel pretty uncomfortable reading spicy scenes between characters who are 18 and 20 years old.

I have to say, even though the start is super slow, I devoured the ending. Once the plot picks up, it's really interesting. I loved Mal's development, how she starts trusting her family and friends and opens up about past traumas.

Overall, it's a 3.75✨ for me. The plot is pretty predictable, but it's a good palate cleanser and an easy read.
