The Wren in the Holly Library by K.A. Linde

3.5

Giving this 3.5 I think? But this book was so hard to form an opinion on πŸ˜‚
But I firmly stand behind this: the first edition is GORGEOUS but the content of the book leaves more to be desired

- The writing is… not great. It feels choppy and so very simple while trying to be more.
- The audio is the saving grace to helping get through what is otherwise questionable writing. HOWEVER be prepared for shoddy accents and less than stellar narration πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
- This is like an urban fantasy, set in NYC but with supernatural beings
- Plot-wise, I think this was a fun story with an interesting beauty and the beast kind of budding relationship.
- There were many times where I raised my eyebrows at the page, truly amused at the writing and the way some of the characters acted or interacted. Not in a good way?
- For the most part, I was indifferent to the actual romance, BUT when she clutches the vines against the wall?? Okayyyyy I see you Kierse πŸ‘€
- Love triangle in the making? Idk because the ending was so much so fast that I’m not sure what to think πŸ˜‚

Will I read the sequel?? Maybe. To be determined.
