The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden
dark
mysterious
2.0
Freida McFadden's newest release and this time I picked it up on audio, and I kind of regret my decision here as I think I would have had a better reading experience if I read it physically.
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the male narrator, particularly when he narrated female speech and this really put me off listening to the book.
As always with Freida McFadden books, I didn't guess the twist, I have come to accept that I'll never guess where the plot is going to go. So it was mostly entertaining but this felt like too much drama, less thriller. I think the ending was quite poorly done and rushed, especially the epilogue, which is where the story has lost another star for me.
I'm going to carry on reading Freida McFadden via KU which I seem to enjoy more as I have also DNF'd an audiobook of The Wife Upstairs.
