This is a great book if you are a fan of historical-romance manwhas. I would compare the mood to Under the Oak Tree.

It's character driven with a headstrong female lead and a stubborn protective male lead. It contains my favorite trope of close corridors and the "who did this to you" quote.

Towards the end I found it to be a bit cheesy or overly sweet. Perfect if you like that sort of style.
