I picked up Listen for the Lie after the Goodreads Choice Award 2024 nominees were announced as I wanted to read more from the Mystery & Thriller category.
There's a lot of twists and turns and it has a great, fast pace with high quality writing, and as Tintera's adult debut it feels impressive as I would liken this to pros such as Lisa Jewell. The reason for my lower rating is my personal enjoyment with the story, as unfortunately this book included a couple of plot devices I don't care for. The first being the amnesia and 'sub-conscious memories that need to be unlocked' storyline. Although it was more believable in this novel than others I've read.
The 2nd plot line that I've come to really dislike in mystery thrillers, and I'll hide it with a spoiler warning as it isn't included in the synopsis,
I hate when there's a romance between investigator (in this case podcaster) and the prime suspect. This also happened in What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall and it honestly ruins my enjoyment of the storyline.

I think this was a decent mystery thriller with a great podcast element, I highly recommend the audiobook if you are interested in giving this one a go.
