My husband randomly picked this up at a bookstore a few months ago so I didn't know what I was getting into when I hauled it. But after reading another post-apocalyptic novel recently, I wanted to give this translated novella a go.
This was very thought-provoking and it definitely raised some important and interesting conflicts. However I think this novella format was just too short for such a big concept to explore and especially the ending, which felt unfinished. I didn't feel a connection with the characters but I definitely felt their fears and surmounting panic.
The main issue I had with the book was the writing which didn't feel very accessible to read, it did feel overly complicated as if it was run through a thesaurus. So I didn't feel like I fully understood some of the writing and may have missed some important plot points.
