5⭐️ 3-4🌶️
MOOD: lighthearted, funny, sad
TROPES: hurt/comfort, found family
GENRES: supernatural romance, monster romance
FAV QUOTE: "It's okay if you are. I don't mind a little mess." - "I'm a whole lot of mess, Hiero." - "But I'd be you're worth it."
MAIN CHARACTERS: Skylar Larkspur (Fae) and Hierophant "Hiero" Wolfsbane (Halfling Minotaur)
TAROT CARD: The Hierophant
THE GOOD: This is the second book I've read in the Tales from the Tarot series. I really enjoyed Skylar and Hiero's story. What starts as a potential rebound for Skylar evolves into a really sweet relationship that gives them both more than they were looking for....also it gets really spicy really fast. The world is really easy to get familiar with and presents differences between the Fae (Skylar) and Shifter (Hiero) cities and cultures that add to their relationship and overall story. There is a Daddy/boy dynamic and while on the lighter side if that's not something for you then I wouldn't suggest reading this.
THE NEUTRAL: I don't get the connection to The Hierophant beyond Hiero's name & The Church. That could be it and that's fine. Just coming from the Cleric of Desire where it was spelled out for me makes me feel like I'm missing something.
THE MEH: Nothing to report here.
CW: mentions of former sex work, mentions of parental neglect, sexual content (full list provided by author)
DISCLAIMER: I received an advance review copy. This is my honest review.
